Want good coffee? Walk two blocks. Dinner with friends? You’ll have dozens of places to choose from. Heading downtown for work? Your commute might take less time than finding your keys.

That’s the everyday case for Beltline, and it’s why so many people end up here.

Who lives in Beltline

According to the City of Calgary’s 2021 Census profile, Beltline has about 25,880 residents. In a city of roughly 1.29 million, that means around 2% of Calgarians live in this one small neighbourhood.

It’s also young and mobile. The biggest age groups are people in their mid-20s to late 30s, and about 76% of residents aged five and older had moved within the previous five years. That tells you who rents here: professionals, remote workers, students, entrepreneurs, newcomers to Calgary, and people between chapters of life who want to be close to everything.

What people love about it

  • Walkability. Downtown is within walking distance, and many daily errands don’t need a car.

  • Transit. Getting around without driving is realistic.

  • Food and coffee. Restaurants and cafés on nearly every block.

  • Arts and entertainment. Plenty to do on a Tuesday night, not just weekends.

  • Green space. Pathways and parks are easy to reach.

Most people choose Beltline because they’d rather have a short commute and a lively street outside than a bigger driveway.

The part nobody mentions on the tour

The neighbourhood gets almost everything right. Many apartments in it don’t.

A lot of newer buildings are designed to fit as many units as possible. You get sleek finishes and a great address, then you move in and ask the real questions. Where do the winter tires go? The bike? The skis? The suitcase you use twice a year, the vacuum, the holiday decorations?

Soon the closet is a warehouse and the living room feels a lot smaller than it did on tour.

That’s why, when you’re comparing Beltline rentals, look past the photos and ask:

  1. Where will my stuff actually live? Check closet depth, storage, and entry space.

  2. Can I work from home comfortably? A dining table that doubles as a desk gets old fast.

  3. What’s included? Heat, water, and parking can shift your real monthly cost by a lot.

  4. Does the building welcome pets?

  5. Does the layout work day to day, not just on paper?

Where Cube fits

Cube Apartments (1177 11 Ave SW) sits in the middle of all of it. The pitch is simple: Beltline location, plus layouts that give you a big room for the life you’ve already built.

A few practical things renters ask about:

  • Heat and water are included.

  • Pets are welcome.

  • Up to 6 months of free parking is available right now, which matters in a neighbourhood where parking adds up quickly.

It suits professionals who want a short commute, spaciouce apartmnets, students who want to be near the action, and anyone who has toured a “perfect” apartment and wondered where their bike would go.
